Formerly known as Nene College, The University of Northampton started operating in 1975. By 2021, it became home to more than 10,000 students from different parts of the world. Yearly, it welcomes 1,000 international students representing more than 100 nationalities. One of the reasons the university attracts so many applicants is its achievement in education and outstanding outcomes for students. Along with 42 other prestigious higher education institutions, it gained the highest ranking in the government’s Teaching Excellence Framework.

The university commits itself to providing teaching close to real world work environments. It combines traditional classrooms with online learning and group work. Such an approach ensures great success in employment and high levels of student satisfaction.

The range of disciplines the university teaches includes Applied Sciences, Arts, Health, Business, Social Sciences, Environmental Science, Waste Management, and Fashion Design. The merit-based scholarship scheme awards a 30% reduction in tuition fees. The graduate scholarship offers up to a 50% discount for international postgraduates. There are also Chevening and Commonwealth scholarships.

Overview

Northampton in Northamptonshire is the hometown of the University of Northampton. The city is located 90 minutes from central London by train. You can also easily reach other large cities in the region including Luton, Leicester, Birmingham, and Milton Keynes.

The brand new Waterside campus opened its doors in 2018 sits in close proximity to the centre of Northampton. Equipped with the latest technology, it delivers a personalised experience in learning and helps develop essential academic and social skills. On campus residence halls are just a few dozen meters away from teaching buildings and university facilities. Students can live in five storey flats and four storey townhouses with lovely courtyards. Off campus accommodation options are also available to suit every budget and personal need.

The university runs pre-sessional English language courses for international students wishing to meet entry requirements. The University of Northampton International College provides foundation and pre-master’s provisions.
