Overview
Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh operates from three campuses: the Edinburgh Campus, the Scottish Borders Campus in Galashiels, and Orkney Campus in Stromness.
Edinburgh campus provides 2,000 residential places with various room types. A Residence Life Team helps students pick accommodation meeting their needs and sorts out any problems they may have while living on campus. The university launched a multi-million renovation program aimed at improving student residences.
The School of Textiles and Design is based in an ultra-modern Scottish Borders campus. It provides integrated learning facilities, workshops, museum, libraries, and everything needed for academic and social life. The students are housed either in one of 200 self-catered rooms or off-campus in the town centre. The campus is only 50 minutes away from Edinburgh by train.
The Orkney Campus is home to International Centre for Island Technology. Located in a picture-perfect harbour, it is a great place for research within the oil, gas, marine, and fisheries industries. The Orkney Campus provides no student residences but it can assist in finding accommodation in the private sector.
