Founded in 1895, Aston University obtained the Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth II in 1966. It is comprised of five schools – Engineering and Applied Science, Social Science Life and Health Science, Business, Medical School, and Languages. Its Business school holds the prestigious ‘triple crown’ provided by renowned international accreditations – AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS. Only 1% of the world’s business schools can boast these accreditations. Every Aston University’s school offers foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes.
The university welcomes 14,000 students from 135 nations. It provides an opportunity to study an array of foreign languages (such as Arabic, Mandarin, French, German, and Spanish) either as an optional module or on an extra-curricular basis. Along with that, the university offers a few dozens of Joint Honours degrees allowing studying two academic areas in an integrated way.
International students are able to benefit from various scholarships. Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship worth £8,000 is available to under- and postgraduate students. Global Ambassador Scholarship (£3,000) is awarded to 25 students who are willing to represent the university on the global level. Global Excellence Scholarship varying between £2,000 – £5,000 is granted to students who constantly receive high grades. Besides that, the university established special scholarships for students from Africa, South America, and China.

Aston University is based in the heart of ‘Britain’s Second City’, Birmingham. Having a population of over 1.2 million people, the city is a vibrant multicultural centre. International non-EU students can benefit from campus accommodation throughout the entire period of study. In total, the university guarantees 3,000 en-suit rooms located a few minutes’ walk from the main building. Self-catering apartments are designed for 5-12 students. Campus facilities provide all necessary amenities including laundries, TV lounges, libraries, as well as cafes and restaurants.
Overseas students are able to take advantage of an International Orientation Programme. It is intended to provide freshers with the information and support they need to feel at home and adapt to the new environment. Besides that, Aston University runs pre-sessional English courses spanning up to 28 weeks.
